Cedar Park, TX
Updating Cedar Park's late-1990s and 2000s homes, one clear permit plan at a time.
Remodeling in Cedar Park
Cedar Park incorporated in 1973 and stayed small until its population jumped from about 5,000 in 1990 to about 26,000 by 2000. Much of its housing comes from that growth and the years after, which means many homes are now 20 to 30 years old and still carry original finishes. We are a woman-owned, family-operated, fully insured company, and we plan Cedar Park projects around the city’s published permit checklist.

Scope
In homes of this age, the most requested work replaces original finishes and improves how main rooms connect.
New cabinets or counters, lighting and layout adjustments for first-generation kitchens.
Replace original tile, tubs and fixtures, with licensed electrical and plumbing professionals as needed.
Renews cabinet fronts when the boxes are in good condition.
Replace worn carpet and older tile across main living areas.
Patching and refinishing so new finishes sit on a clean surface.
Several rooms updated together on one schedule.
Local planning
Neighborhood age varies more than you might expect. Cypress Creek is described as built in the mid to late 1990s, with larger lots and mature trees, and some interiors there still show original finishes. Buttercup Creek’s age is described differently by different sources, from the 1980s to the early 2000s, and the Ranch at Deer Creek area was developed from about 2001 to 2007. The year your house was built tells us more about what to expect behind the walls than the subdivision name.
The City of Cedar Park publishes residential permit guidelines, and they are specific. A permit is required for construction that physically changes or adds structures, and the remodel triggers include new or moved plumbing or electrical wiring, HVAC installation or replacement, and water heater work. Plans must be legible and cannot be drawn in pencil.
For electrical work the guidelines ask for a service load analysis, distribution equipment locations, GFCI receptacle locations and smoke detector locations. For plumbing, they ask for the layout, water heater size and type, and materials. We prepare that during pre-construction so a kitchen or bathroom permit does not stall on missing detail.
Cedar Park sits mostly in Williamson County, with a small part in Travis County. We confirm your address and who issues the permit before we give you a schedule.
Cedar Park questions
Legible plans, not drawn in pencil, plus trade details when they apply: an electrical load analysis with receptacle and smoke detector locations, a plumbing layout with water heater information, and HVAC locations. We prepare these with you.
Every house is different, but original cabinets, tile, flooring and bathroom fixtures are common starting points. At the consultation and again in pre-construction we look at the age of the wiring, plumbing and HVAC before setting scope.
Often, yes. Cabinet refacing, new counters, lighting and flooring can change a kitchen a great deal. We will say so plainly if the layout is the real issue.
Yes. Both are part of our regular service area, and Liberty Hill is where our office is.
