Outdoor Living & Specialty Remodeling in Austin, TX

Outdoor kitchens, shaded gathering areas, stone and lighting built for Central Texas weather.

Outdoor Living

Outdoor spaces designed to be used every week

An outdoor kitchen or patio should handle Texas heat, sun and rain and still look good years later. ATX Renovations plans these spaces with the same care we bring to indoor remodels.

What We Build

Outdoor living that connects to the house

The best outdoor spaces feel like part of the home rather than an add-on. That starts with how the space connects to the interior: where the door opens, how people move between the kitchen and the patio, and whether the materials outside relate to the ones inside.

We work with Austin-area homeowners on outdoor kitchens, covered and shaded areas, stone and hardscape, and specialty features such as fire and water elements and landscape lighting. Gazi Kose, our founder, stays involved from the first conversation through the final walkthrough.

Scope

Outdoor and specialty services

Each project is planned around your yard, your sun exposure and how you actually entertain.

Outdoor kitchens

Stone-clad islands, built-in grills, outdoor refrigeration, counters and storage, with attention to utilities and appliance coordination.

Covered and shaded living areas

Pavilions, lounge spaces and shaded seating areas that make the yard comfortable in summer.

Hardscape and stone

Patios, walkways, walls and stone details, with attention to drainage and a stable base.

Fire and water features

Fire pits, fireplaces and water elements, placed so they suit the layout and how the family uses the space.

Permanent outdoor lighting

Lighting mounted once along rooflines and architectural edges, then used for everyday evenings, holidays and events. A newer service from ATX.

Texas Conditions

Designing for Austin heat, sun and weather

Central Texas puts outdoor materials under real stress: long stretches of direct sun, heavy rain events, occasional hard freezes and clay soil that shifts. Surfaces that stay comfortable to the touch, finishes that resist fading and a base that drains properly matter more than any single feature.

We talk through exposure early. A west-facing patio needs a different shade plan than one that sits under trees, and a kitchen island needs materials chosen for outdoor use, not just for looks. Where a design depends on a specific stone or finish, we show you the options and explain how each holds up outside.

Utilities and Approvals

Gas, electrical, permits and HOA rules

Outdoor kitchens and fire features often need gas, power and sometimes water. Gas, electrical and plumbing connections are performed by licensed professionals, and we coordinate them with the rest of the build so the layout and utilities are planned together.

Permit requirements depend on what you are building and where. Covered structures, gas work and electrical work are more likely to require one. If your neighborhood has an HOA, we can help prepare what a submission needs, but approval belongs to the HOA. We confirm all of this during pre-construction, before work begins.

Common Questions

Outdoor living FAQ

What outdoor projects do you handle?

We handle outdoor kitchens, covered and shaded living areas, patios and stone work, fire and water features, and permanent outdoor lighting. If you have an idea that is not on this list, ask us during your consultation.

Do you install gas lines and electrical for outdoor kitchens?

Gas, electrical and plumbing connections are done by licensed professionals whom we coordinate with the rest of the project. That keeps the utilities and the layout aligned from the start.

Will I need a permit or HOA approval?

Possibly. Requirements depend on the structure, the utilities involved and your city or neighborhood. We confirm what applies during pre-construction. We can help with HOA submissions, but the HOA makes the approval decision.

What materials hold up best outdoors in Austin?

It depends on how much sun and weather the space gets. We choose materials for outdoor use, check how they perform in heat and rain, and explain the maintenance each one needs before you decide.

Can outdoor work be combined with an indoor remodel?

Yes. Planning both together helps the finishes relate, and it lets us coordinate trades and deliveries. A kitchen remodel with a connected patio is a common combination.

How long does an outdoor project take?

It varies with the scope, the materials and whether permits are needed. We give you a written schedule during pre-construction, after the design is settled.
